Women's Voices Group

This 20 session, two hour weekly structured therapy group for women experiencing intimate partner emotional or physical abuse consists of 5-8 people. Sessions focus on common effects of abusive relationships, including confusion, guilt, shame, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and shame. The group consists of several modules, the first being Breaking the Silence, which offers a structured way to tell their stories. Other skills modules include building self-esteem, identifying beliefs changed by abuse, dealing with self-defeating thoughts, learning healthy boundaries, and practicing assertiveness skills. The last module gives opportunities to practice all the skills.
