Story workshops offer an opportunity to explore life themes in a small group setting. It can be healing when one explores life in a supportive environment with a trained facilitator to guide the process. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how styles of relating impact communication with others. Teaching time will explore codependent patterns, shame, boundaries, and deeply engrained beliefs that can lead to relationship stressors. Through teaching and group interactions, participants receive encouragement and support as they come to understand themselves, resulting in more authentic and transformative ways of living. Workshops meet weekly for six weeks and are capped at five participants.

This online group is for people living with chronic pain. Although chronic pain can be life-changing, it does not have to keep you from living fully & staying present in your daily life. We will build a deeper understanding of chronic pain, including how the brain interprets pain signals & how pain can affect everyday life. We will also make space to process the emotional & practical changes that often come with chronic pain. You will learn coping skills through mindfulness, somatic exercises, & grief support. The goal is to help you create a life in which you can thrive—not simply survive.

I also have experience supporting clients navigating grief and loss, existential difficulties (such as imposter syndrome), negative self-talk, low self-esteem, and adjusting to major life events such as changes in ability, adapting to chronic health, and chronic pain.

Wild Mourning is not a traditional therapy group, and draws upon the wisdom of the life death life cycle found in nature. Each week we will learn about a different element found in nature and how it corresponds to common grief symptoms. Group Starts Feb 26th. Layoffs disrupt our finances, our routines, and our relationships. They are stressful and confusing, and yet we’re expected to jump into problem solving. Rarely are we given the space to talk about the complex feelings that come. The reality is that losing a job can bring up deep seated insecurities, make us doubt ourselves, and challenge our identities. This Group may be a good fit if you:
Have been recently let go.
Are struggling to deal with career uncertainty.
Feel isolated or deflated as you look for a new job.

Healing & Hope is a safe, Christ-centered counseling group created to walk alongside women navigating the emotional, relational, and spiritual aftermath of divorce. Over 8 weeks, this online group offers a space to process grief, rebuild identity, and rediscover God’s purpose and peace in your life.

For such a common experience, those going through divorce often feel isolated and misunderstood. Not only do I run "Life After Divorce" workshops, but I also offer community-oriented, sliding-scale groups to create more space for connection and support. These groups are open to folks no matter where you are in the transition of divorce — discernment, in the thick of it, or even a few years out. This therapy support group offers drop-in times, which means you can come once or to many sessions.

Perceptions of widows can often be inaccurate. Families, culture, religious communities often fail to understand widows' needs and grief. Widows themselves are surprised by the after affects of their "new normal." They tell me they "feel as if still in a fog." Life changes, financial hardships arise. Change brings its own challenges. In small groups or in individual therapy, widowhood is addressed in practical and thoughtful ways, I provide a space in which widows may feel better understood in their adjustments to life after loss. We talk, write, and create by "cutting and pasting life back together."

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
