Support Groups in Arlington, VA

This group will: -Provide a safe place to discuss OCD-related issues with your peers. -Give you a place to share your experiences without fear of judgment. -Foster community. -Allow you to give and receive support while you deal with OCD, directly and indirectly. -Give you the opportunity to practice intervention strategies during group sessions. Although there is no requirement that group members be in individual therapy, this is strongly recommended.

I work with people who are doing their best—but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or worn thin. Maybe your thoughts race at night, or anxiety keeps hijacking your day. Maybe OCD, burnout, or sleeplessness is making life feel smaller. Or you’re worried about your child and just want answers. I offer therapy for adults and teens, and psychological testing for kids and adults. My job is to listen closely, get to the heart of what’s going on, and help you move forward with clarity and support.

Think enhancement, rejuvenation, restoring an inner glow…for your body image. In the age of social media wherein it seems everyone's a supermodel and body image is based on how many followers one has, it can feel impossible to feel confident in your own skin. What do you want, though? Do you want to be able to go to the beach and take off your shirt without feeling so insecure you that forget to enjoy the waves? Our #NoFilter therapy circle has been developed for those looking to shamelessly love their bodies and confidently live their best lives.

You won't find me stuffy, judgmental or condescending - life is hard enough; I'm on your side. However, I will challenge & support you to finally tackle the thorniest parts of your life. We’ll do this by going deep, not just rehashing. We’ll also work intimately together, finding ways to really and truly connect, & even sometimes have fun. I work best with scrappy & determined women who love making their own way, but sometimes get derailed by their own thoughts or bad relationships or family history. I also love working with men who want to understand life, but balk at traditional therapy - and like straight talk as much as support.

Let’s be honest here, there’s a lot of variability in the quality of therapists out there. I know that finding the right one, someone who will REALLY help, is daunting. You’re overwhelmed by making one more choice, when all you want to do is get better. I’ll do the work hard; & talking with me will be as comfortable as confiding in a dear friend. I work best with determined WOMEN who love making their own way, but sometimes get derailed by their own thoughts, bad relationships or family history. I also love working with MEN who want to understand life, but balk at traditional therapy - and like straight talk as much as support.

Feel like you're a constantly spinning top, trying desperately not to topple. Honestly, our minds are bombarded by more stimuli in a day than our ancestors faced in a lifetime. It’s overwhelming, Even for people who swear they are not competitive, jealous, or influenced by the current pace of change or amount of choices – it’s exhausting. To students: Navigating what feels like endless academia & adulthood simultaneously? It's hard. Between endless comparisons with your friends who all seem to have the perfect internship to the guilt of spending too much time on Tiktok - you can start to really doubt that you can handle this.

I use exploration of thoughts & feelings, mindfulness, meditation, and creativity to help you feel greater peace, be more aware of the present moment, pay less attention to unhelpful thoughts and live your life more fully. I believe that noticing what's "right" about you and paying attention to your inner wisdom greatly enhance the process of change and I focus on these areas in our time together. Everyone experiences difficulties at times and therapy can be an effective first step in finding freedom from suffering. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment and help you develop a nonjudgemental attitude toward yourself.

Life is full of stressful circumstances and difficultl relationships. Often, we are unable to prevent what happens to us, but we can control how we respond to the stressors in our lives. My goal is to help my clients find healthy ways of coping with the unforeseen and enduring stressors. Knowing ourselves and being comfortable with who we are also helps us get through life. I want to help clients have the best, most meaningful life possible and to be strong and resilient through whatever challenges come our way.

I am a Resident in Counseling at Rock Recovery. My clients often feel stuck — longing for recovery but uncertain of where to start. Paint like you did kindergarten: spontaneously and for the pure enjoyment of it. Follow your intuition or muse and learn to disregard your rational mind. Keep your eye on the tip of the brush, and as you do this over the long term, 10,000 joys & sorrows will arise & pass away, and bit by bit, you’ll transcend your past conditioning. No art experience or confidence needed. I’ll give instructions on putting paint on paper, which will lead you into painting intuitively. I’ll also ask questions throughout to tease you out of your rational mind. Therapeutic, not therapy.
