We all know that children unfortunately do not come with an instruction manual. Being a parent can be very difficult, discouraging, and draining at times. This group is designed to teach skills and to support parents in successfully raising challenging children with behavioral challenges, Autism, ADHD, mood disorders, and other difficulties. This group provides a safe and supportive environment to collaborate with other parents, problem solve, and receive validation from one another. The goal of this group is to give parents the skills and support they need to parent with confidence. Please contact me directly with interest or inquiries at KassidyL.cps@gmail.com

I work mainly with children and teenagers struggling with anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, family challenges, ADHD, and autism.

Parenting today can feel overwhelming—especially when raising a neurodivergent child. It requires tremendous emotional labor, patience, advocacy, and self-regulation. If you’re exhausted, it’s not because your child is “too much.” These kids aren’t being defiant or dramatic, they’re navigating sensory overload, anxiety, executive functioning challenges, and intense emotions. Nothing is wrong with your child—or with you. Neurodivergent parenting simply requires different tools, education, and support. With the right resources and community, parenting can become calmer, more connected, and more hopeful. You don’t have to do it alone.

In group therapy, multiple people with attention deficit disorder ( ADD or ADHD) get together to process and learn how to live life with ADHD. I have personal experience with ADHD ( ADD). This form of therapy can be very helpful as people with ADHD ( ADD) learn strategies and coping skills from other people with the condition.

Social Skill class for young people, aged 13-18, been going for about 10 years with many wonderful youth coming through. Most of the kids in the group have been diagnosed with ADHD, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, or Autism Spectrum. This isn't required, just mentioned to give an idea of what the group is like. The group uses hands-on activities, games, and role-playing to learn, which works much better for this group of young people. Group members learn skills to practice outside of group, and have fun with friends they form in group as well. Online & In-person attendance are available.

This three part series for couples focuses on how our childhood impacts our current relationship dynamics, the process of being yourself and acceptance of your partner, and specific communication tools to deepen vulnerability and reduce defensiveness. This workshop is structured like a class with teaching and practice. All practice/communication is done between partners; there is no expectation to share with the group.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
