Each session combines psychoeducation, group processing, and grounding techniques to promote healing and connection. Topics include the emotional and biological roots of eating disorders, power and control, family and food culture, shame and isolation, communication, self-compassion, and recovery resources. Sessions are structured with a consistent flow: icebreaker, topic discussion, guided processing, and a calming “safe place” exercise to close. Self-Control Boot Camp is an educational group which teaches teens how to recognize and control their big emotions. As teens grow into young adults, changes within the body, hormones, and emotions can become overwhelming. Self-Control Boot Camp teaches teens how to understand their feelings and process them in a healthy way. In my office, I offer educational, interactive groups which uses many techniques to teach, and and reinforce skills. This group will meet every Tuesday from 5:00 pm for an hour. The first session will start on Monday, August 26, 2024 and last for 5 weeks. This is private pay only.

Participants engage in various games that promote teamwork, problem-solving, and communication, helping them learn how to build and maintain healthy relationships. The group focuses on areas such a setting boundaries, practicing healthy communication, and boosting self-confidence. Through structured activities and discussions, teens gain practical strategies to navigate social situations, enhance interpersonal skills and foster a supportive community among peers. Aetna and Cigna insurance can be accepted for this group. Private pay fee is $40/week.
