Weekly support for women navigating relationships, burnout, identity shifts, anxiety, grief, and the complicated reality of being human. There’s something powerful about sitting in a room and realizing you are not the only one carrying what you carry. This weekly women’s therapy group is designed to be a supportive, grounded space where women can process life in real time — honestly, openly, and without needing to perform wellness. Whether you’re feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected in relationships, overwhelmed by life transitions, or simply tired of trying to hold everything together alone, group therapy can offer both support and change.

We are a woman-owned, trauma-informed psychotherapy practice based in Austin, Texas. We met in our final year of training to be licensed psychologists and were quickly drawn to each other as friends. Over the years, we have had many conversations about what drew us to the psychology profession, what we wanted to create, and what we hope to give back. Thus, Ritual Wellness ATX was born out of a shared vision among friends to create a different way of doing therapy.

I’m currently seeking women working in tech-related fields in Austin to join a supportive, psycho-educational group of like-minded peers. In my clinical experience, these women – and maybe I’m talking to you right now – are often high-functioning, high-achieving employees who internalize toxic messages around gender norms. Perhaps they are the only women in the room where bro culture runs rampant. A therapy group with other women offers the ideal environment to get help from other women who know what it's like!

This group is for women with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 genetic mutation who identify as previvors. Living with increased cancer risk often brings uncertainty, medical decisions about surgery or screening, and emotional challenges that can impact identity, relationships, body image, and family planning. While loved ones may offer support, it is often other previvors who truly understand. This group provides a safe, supportive space to connect, share experiences, and reduce isolation. Facilitated by Sarah Kourouma, LCSW, the group focuses on coping with anxiety, strengthening resilience, and finding empowerment in community.

This is a group therapy class that is strictly here for other therapists. This has been a tough year for everyone and I want to create a safe space for therapists to process what has been going on for each and everyone of them in life/business/general. Since the pandemic started our work as therapists has caused us to hold space for our clients even in times when we ourself had uncertainty.

Women's Issues Support Groups
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
