Teen DBT Skills Group

Our Teen DBT Skills Group is designed to help adolescents learn how to manage big emotions, cope with stress, communicate effectively, and make healthy decisions. Using a structured DBT curriculum built for teens, we cover: Mindfulness & grounding strategies, Coping skills for anxiety, anger, and emotional overwhelm, Building confidence and self-awareness, Healthy boundaries and relationship skills, Reducing impulsivity and improving problem-solving. This group offers a supportive environment where teens can learn, practice new skills, and gain emotional stability. Parent involvement is encouraged for reinforcement at home.

In a small and supportive group setting, participants learn the four core DBT skill modules: Mindfulness: increasing awareness and emotional steadiness, Distress Tolerance: managing crises without making things worse, Emotion Regulation: understanding, reducing, and balancing intense emotions Interpersonal Effectiveness: improving communication and boundaries This group is ideal for individuals seeking practical tools, accountability, and a non-judgmental environment. No prior DBT experience is required.

Diabetic Mental Health Support Group: Managing diabetes goes beyond blood sugar; it's emotionally and mentally demanding. This group offers a supportive space to address the psychological impact of Diabetes and other chronic illnesses, including burnout, anxiety, depression, and diabetes distress. Led by Kevin Shrum, Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate, who has lived with T1D for over 40 years, and Jennifer Hansen, a Life Coach and T1D parent, the group provides real-world tools, community connection, and clinical insight.
