postpartum and parenting
many patients are in the process of dealing with challenges of parenting. While individual psychotherapeutic treatment is an excellent option for some, it is not always feasible. my group is for people for whom “parenting failure” is simply not an option. the group helps parents learn to get along with their child while dealing with the demands of older children, in-laws, spouses, as well as their own parents and family of origin. By observing someone successfully cope with problems, members learn there is hope at the end of the tunnel and eventually serve as a role model for others.
