Seeking Safety

Seeking Safety is a present-focused treatment for clients with a history of trauma and substance abuse. Seeking Safety focuses on coping skills and psychoeducation: (1) safety as the overarching goal (helping clients attain safety in their relationships, thinking, behavior, and emotions); (2) integrated treatment (working on both trauma or posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD) and substance abuse at the same time); (3) a focus on ideals to counteract the loss of ideals in both trauma or PTSD and substance abuse; (4) four content areas: cognitive, behavioral, interpersonal, and case management; and (5) attention to clinician processes. How To Help without Hindering
How to Help Without Hindering is a group for parents of adolescents with special needs. Explore how to support your child through school, peer, and identity challenges—including race, gender, and neurodiversity—while fostering autonomy and resilience. The group addresses anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation in teens, while also focusing on parent self-care. Learn somatic interventions to manage your own stress and stay grounded in difficult moments. Through guided discussions and shared experiences, parents gain tools to advocate effectively, connect meaningfully, and respond with confidence. This group is a space for reflection, learning, and mutual support.
