Sobriety is critical to developing healthy sexuality, but ceasing the behavior is not enough to stay in recovery. Sexual acting out behavior is only a symptom of the core issues fueling the addiction. True recovery is achieved through acquiring the necessary coping skills to deal with difficult situations and emotions. Clients attending this group learn how to recognize multiple addictions, how to make decisions that suit their individual needs, and how to live an optimal life.

Facing the Shadows
Facing the Shadows is a program for individuals with sexual compulsion and is conducted in an atmosphere of safety, confidentiality, and respect. All new clients are screened to determine if a candidate is a good fit and will derive optimum benefit from the program. The group is therapist led and utilizes the Facing the Shadows workbook. It covers the first seven tasks of the Carnes researched, evidence based thirty-task model, the most respected model for treating sex addiction.
