Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT) is a new evidence based treatment targeting a spectrum of disorders characterized by excessive self control, often referred to as overcontrol (OC). It is supported by 20 years of research. RO DBT treatment involves both individual treatment sessions and 30 skills training classes. DBT has emerged as a highly effective evidenced based treatment. It targets under-controlled or emotionally dysregulated behavior through a skills-based approach that addresses the needs of individuals who struggle with strong and difficult emotions, impulsivity, and chaos in their lives. Standard treatment includes weekly individual and group therapy. The skills groups are made up of 4 modules (a total of 24 weeks): core mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
