About

Therapy improves relationships and helps people experience more freedom, fulfillment and joy. My work is to partner with clients to address their particular concerns and hopes for therapy. All of us go through periods of mild to extreme anxiety, depression, phobias, relationship issues, low self esteem, body image problems, unmet goals, procrastination and career dissatisfaction. In addition to experiencing ongoing issues, we all struggle during major life transitions like the loss of a loved one, a move, the birth of a child, starting or ending a relationship. Its essential to discuss your concerns and goals for therapy.
I bring over 20 years of clinical experience and a holistic approach to health, wellness and stress reduction. Using a strengths-based perspective I support clients as they build on their existing skills. I am committed to offering a space where patients can explore and process their feelings and experiences.
I find it incredibly rewarding to witness the increased hope, empathy and self-acceptance that often occur in therapy. My office is located in South/West Andersonville, near Lincoln Square and Ravenswood. Location is close to several major bus routes, and accessible from the el's brown and red lines. Street parking is available.

Sheila N Nissim's Groups

Process Group Focus on Grief

This group is a space to explore what grief is and how it impacts us each in our own individual lives. Members will witness each other's experiences and stories and share their own thoughts and feelings on the themes of grief and coping with loss. We will be learning how grief is expressed in our communication and relatedness within the group itself, including processing the end of group/goodbyes. Through this shared experience we will create a supportive space to strengthen members in their personal grieving process and in their lives going forward while living with loss. This group will be held on Zoom.
