Pausing in Practice
Take a pause mid-day to practice using the nervous system regulating techniques that many of us know, but struggle to implement consistently. We will use meditation, breath work, body movement, thoughtful attention, and visualization to improve our ability to: Notice, name, and tolerate our emotions, pause and observe our experiences without reacting to them, stay connected to the present moment. If you are interested in joining please email Meagan Chevalier at Meagan@fairfaxintegrativetherapy.com We will schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to get started.

Have You Called Your Mother?! Women's Group
Weekly in-person process group for women with emotionally immature mothers. Did you experience emotional neglect or abuse as a child, mother’s substance use, narcissism, shame/criticism, high expectations, volatility, dismissiveness? This group is a space to explore these hurts along with others. Group goals: providing psychoeducation on impacts of an emotionally immature mother; exploring symptoms in adulthood (shame, invisibility, low self-worth, people pleasing, codependency, overworking, perfectionism, and more); processing role your mother plays in your life today; exploring themes of acceptance, grief; empowering group members to lead more fulfilling lives through boundaries, self-advocacy, and self-care.
