Being a kid (or a parent) today is so tough! My goal as a therapist is to help your child be their most authentic self and to support you as a parent along the way. Using a strengths-based and empowering approach, I view behavior through the lens of nervous system regulation and the neurodiversity paradigm. I work with issues including: anxiety, traumatic stress, family stressors and changes, behavioral issues, aggression, regression, self-esteem, and school problems. I'm experienced working with neurodiverse populations (ADHD, autism, sensory processing differences, etc.) To learn more about my approach, visit realworkwellness.com.

That understanding leads to action strategies for the changes you wish to make, relying most on those demonstrated as effective for people with your concerns. We will regularly evaluate how well my services are working for you.

In our "Parenting Bootcamp" parents meet online weekly to learn the play therapy skills and behavior therapy skills to manage disruptive behaviors of children ages 1-10 in a support group atmosphere that is fun and interactive. Child participation is optional as parents can learn these strategies through lecture and by watching videos of parents using these strategies with their children. And every family receives a weekly behavior plan for their child at the end of each group. And some families stay in contact after the group to become a part of each other's support systems.
Child therapy for big emotions and challenging behaviors. Evening & weekend availability. We teach parents therapeutic play skills and behavior therapy skills for children ages 1-12 so they can dissolve emotions quickly and help their children manage impulses and respond to instructions quickly. These strategies come from Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and PC-Care, two protocols researched at UC Davis Children’s Hospital and shown to be nurturing and effective. The CDC has even recommended PCIT for children under 6 with ADHD before trying medication. Let’s work together to bring peace and warmth back to your home!

I have been working with children, youth, and families in a Social Work capacity for 15+ years. I have worked with a variety of issues including: depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse/neglect, families in the foster care system, and adoption.
For over 20 years, LifeStar has been helping individuals, spouses, and families heal from the devastating affects of pornography addiction and other sexually compulsive behaviors. Through an innovative and proven three phase treatment program, this intensive outpatient group therapy approach gives participants the resources, support, and structure needed to experience a successful recovery from the damaging effects of pornography and sexual addiction. Each phase of recovery is specifically designed to gently uncover, yet aggressively heal, the destructive patterns that create and maintain addictive behaviors. Workbooks, along with other materials, help provide education and structure throughout the different phases of treatment.

I work with individuals, couples, and families to help them solve problems and achieve their life goals. I understand both the frustration and joy of marital relationships and parenting and can help you find fulfillment in your relationships. When one person in a family has a problem, every family member is affected. Through family counseling, the strengths of each individual can be brought together to resolve problems and improve the connections each person needs.
One of the biggest factors for the quality of life is your relationships, especially your intimate relationship(s.) Sex can be an amazing way to stay connected to your partner. It can also feel like pressure or disappointment. Over the course of a relationship the role of sex can change, sometimes a lot. These changes can be difficult to address but very important. It’s unusual for everyone in a relationship to think similarly about sex. We may have differing or conflicting values, which can lead to misunderstandings and hurt feelings.
I focus on intimate relationships, sexual expression, disparate desire, shifting intimacy, alternative relating styles, polyamory. This often includes performance issues, the impact of aging and menopause, dealing with grief and jealousy. I have experience working with differing abilities and my clients range in age from mid-twenties to mid-nineties. I also work with those in recovery from drug/alcohol addiction and their specific issues around sex and relationships. I aim to engage the mind and heart while centering on the body. Pleasure is important and a great way to learn!
When Anxiety decides to move in, most things feel hard, but anxiety can make starting high school feel daunting. Skills groups can help us gain confidence in our ability to navigate changes and unknown places. In this group, members will learn skills to manage anxiety, share experiences, and practice skills. Group members will learn new things, talk, draw, and celebrate wins. If you’re ready to learn new skills or you’re a parent and want to help your teen find a safe space to learn new skills, I hope you’ll reach out.

If you are struggling with an eating disorder, I can help! I know the isolation, denial, justifications and struggles that make recovery difficult. I aim to create a space individually and with peers where you can experiment with recovery and see if it is better than your eating disorder. Eating disorders thrive in isolation, so peer support and building a recovery community is a large part of my treatment model. If you are at the place where you want to try something different, then let's work together! I use both harm-reduction and hold full recovery is possible if that is what is important to you.
