Its hard to love our bodies and feel like we are "enough" in a world that is outwardly focused on perfectionism and beauty. Women struggle with body image, shame and embarrassment about how they present themselves to the world. We grow up being judged and prioritized based on our looks, our weight and how we physically fit into the constraints of our male dominated world. We will explore these attitudes and struggles, to promote self-acceptance and empowerment.

Your libido was born a confident creature, devoted only to your pleasure and joy. But she came up on the streets of patriarchy where she encountered tired scripts of sex that go like this: make out, hands, mouths, penetration, orgasm, THE END. Your personality was conditioned to nod along, but your libido thinks for herself. She pulled an Irish Goodbye. For four weeks, we will listen to her wisdom instead of cursing her resistance. She’s the key to free, unscripted, intimate sex. Open all genders--content geared toward fems and thems.

One of the biggest factors for the quality of life is your relationships, especially your intimate relationship(s.) Sex can be an amazing way to stay connected to your partner. It can also feel like pressure or disappointment. Over the course of a relationship the role of sex can change, sometimes a lot. These changes can be difficult to address but very important. It’s unusual for everyone in a relationship to think similarly about sex. We may have differing or conflicting values, which can lead to misunderstandings and hurt feelings.

Motherhood includes joy, exhaustion, and everything in between—and many moms feel isolated in the midst of it. This group offers a safe, welcoming space for honest connection and shared vulnerability, grounded in the understanding that none of us are alone in these struggles. Using evidence-based approaches such as Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), participants will build a practical set of skills to manage emotions, reduce self-criticism, set healthy boundaries, and respond to stress with greater balance and compassion. If you're interested in joining please email me!

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
