Feeling "stuck" or even "paralyzed" in your career, daily life, or relationships (in areas even beyond romantic) are often why people seek me. My culturally open approach means we will understand how your past and present relationships, ideas, and feelings shape who you are today. I primarily use psychodynamic and relational modalities with a sprinkle in CBT and DBT. Talk therapy can lead to deep and lasting changes, and medications, when thoughtfully prescribed, can lessen the intensity of pain and suffering. With my medical and therapy resources, we will create an approach that helps with personal growth.
Passages offers professional counseling and support for women at pivotal and transitional moments in their lives. Our mission in the groups is to help participants recognize the feelings that make them uncomfortable-boredom, loneliness, frustration, depression- and to learn how to respond in more constructive and healthy ways.

Finding a therapist who you connect to is important in achieving your goals. With over twenty years of experience, I specialize in the integration of verbal psychotherapy and the arts to help people move from a place of feeling stuck to a place of feeling empowered, confident, and creative. I bring warmth, compassion, humor, truthful communication and collaboration to the therapy process, offering a space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings creatively and work toward solutions and resolutions at your own pace. I practice from a relational, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and trauma-informed framework, and am EMDR trained.
In 6 two-hour meetings, you will explore the process of transition as it pertains to your own life situation. You will learn the 4 signals and 3 phases of transition and what it takes to let go of the past so you can attend to desires, dreams and yearnings that remain un-lived and waiting for your attention. Come prepared to reflect and journal, discuss and share, and participate in experiential exercises as you review major life turning points and name next steps to moving forward. An ongoing support group can develop from this shared experience.

DBT groups are not your traditional talk therapy. They are skills based - think of it more as a class. There are four different categories of skills that you will learn - mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal skills. This group will provide you with a toolkit of life skills to help you replace any ineffective behaviors, thoughts patterns or habits.

I have three areas of expertise - substance use, eating disorders and gender affirming care. Substance use includes anything from being curious about your relationship to substances to wanting to stop using completely. Eating issues can range from poor body image to binging/purging/restricting on a daily basis. In regards to gender affirming care - as a trans guy, I have a special place in my heart for clients who are exploring their gender/sexuality. Whether you are just starting to question or worried about coming out or need letters to obtain appropriate medical care - a safe place to process can be very helpful.

You long to release the emotional strongholds and frustrating patterns that have taken over your life. You seek to break free from being a victim of your past and being held back by unresolved pain, recurrent conflicts, and trauma. You would like to embrace awareness, healing, self-discovery, and self-mastery. I am here to help you reconnect with hope and inspiration and make therapy an enriching and empowering experience. Our work together can help transform the pain and wounding of your past and present challenges into your truth and potential for connection, ease, joy, and fulfillment.
This group focuses on developing trust within the group to learn about oneself including sore spots, areas where communication and insight are wanting, access "emotional knots" interfering with personal and interpersonal satisfaction. The questions, "What is love?" and "What is intimacy" will be explored and arrived at in different ways as this pertains to the needs of the group. The ultimate goal is to arrive at the process, the present and make contact with one's authentic self. The day, time and start date will be determined once I have an idea of your schedule. Please call or email me to set up a consultation.

Suffice it to say I will join you, once you feel comfortable, being creative about finding out how to be the most alive...how to tolerate and move effectively through pain...how to live from a place of ownership, passion, love...how to just be...human. In a fast-paced world where connection and meaning are forgotten, we cultivate a space for finding yourself. Go at your pace and take seriously your story and explore ways to make changes or even start to figure out what changes you may need in your life. Life is a process for us to see about.
I have hosted vision board events for the past two years. This year, I am doing something additional to help participants create tangible artistic expressions of their life vision. Beginning in November, we will meet once a week leading up to the vision board event and discuss the work of Joe Dispenza, Eckhart Tolle, and Michael Beckwith's book "Life Visioning: A Transformative Process for Activating Your Unique Gifts and Highest Potential." The goal: to create a life vision that is aligned with your highest potential. $150 for 3 group sessions. Participants receive 15% off the Vision Board event.

My style and beliefs are to create a safe environment within which individuals, couples, and families can explore their issues and challenges. I do this using brief solution focused therapy embedded in a narrative view. This means that I assist people in seeing their lives in more healthy ways as they overcome the challenges in their lives. This occurs in an atmosphere of empowerment and growth.

Sometimes we need a transformational breakthrough to grow into the person we were meant to be.
We know there's a path, but it can be difficult to find on our own. I use a combination of traditional and imaginative methods that help individuals and couples get to the heart of their issues, work through present and past pain, and successfully move forward. I provide a safe, supportive, nurturing environment, as well as insightful, honest feedback. My structured, yet dynamic, interactive approach addresses all levels of malaise; thinking, feeling, behaving, and spiritual.
This group is made up of high functioning individuals who are committed to personal growth. The group experience helps members to develop the tools that will lead to a healthier and happier life. Various topics are discussed and include relationship issues, anxiety and fear, depression, alcohol and eating issues, OCD and grief work. Because of the dynamic created by the group experience, growth happens at a much more rapid pace than is experienced when someone is exclusively doing individual therapy. The combination of both mediums is amazingly powerful.

I help people to identify and overcome the issues that are preventing them from achieving what they want in life. My clients are highly functioning men and women who are dealing with the stressors of modern day existence, ie relationship issues, life transitions, depression and anxiety. It can often be a difficult task to balance interpersonal relationships (family, friends, dating, committed relationships) with life's expectations. Common stressors can also cause life crisis. For example, figuring out your career path, changing careers, adjusting to a new living or financial situation, dealing with chronic illness or the loss of a loved one.

Are you looking for healthier relationships, more career success, or freedom from emotional stress? I will work closely with you to conquer what gets in the way of having the life you want. Understanding your problems and others can enhance your ability to genuinely connect to people and be open to love. Rethinking repetitive behaviors can help to rid you of frustrating patterns and discover new options. Gaining the emotional tools to steer your life with more intention can lead to achieving enduring change. Developing your ability to use your emotions to understand your thinking can encourage more flexibility, playfulness, and room for pleasure.
The prolonged grief that comes from watching a loved one battle chronic illness is a unique struggle and often exists without many spaces to talk about it. This group is meant to hold that space and provide a non-judgmental environment where members can feel supported through their grief and in community with similarly situated people.
