Group therapy helps people learn about themselves and improve their interpersonal relationships. It addresses feelings of isolation, depression or anxiety. In group therapy, you learn that perhaps you’re not as different as you think or that you’re not alone. You’ll meet and interact with people, and the whole group learns to work on shared problems -- one of the most beneficial aspects.

This is a place where those seeking to explore psychedelics as a healing/spiritual path can meet other like-minded people so you can share your experiences, get feedback and insights, let off steam, feel feelings, or just find out more on what psychedelics are all about. I co-lead this group with psychedelic expert Dimitri Mugianis, and we meet every Tuesday at 7:00pm, for an honest, open- hearted, intelligent exploration into psychedelic issues. The cost is $30, and we meet on a drop-in basis via Zoom. Contact me if you are interested.

I have been helping people prepare for psychedelic experiences and process them afterwards, since 2003, before all this became so popular. Psychedelic experiences are not some kind of a silver bullet which will unfailingly fix our mental health issues, they are in fact incredibly varied experiences, from the ecstatic to the terrifying, but they are always a door into parts of ourselves that we would be pretty unlikely to meet any other way. Rather than describing psychedelics as the next big thing in mental health, I think it's fairer to say that they are an extraordinary vehicle to help us in progressing on our soul's journey.

This group is comprised of men and women to explore relationship issues. Feedback and interaction in the group is particularly useful to understand your characteristic behavior in relationships, and then to understand how to change. Feedback and interaction with the other group members can allow for an "in-vivo" experience and result in a corrective emotional experience.

Finding the right therapist can be very confusing and overwhelming! On your initial visit, I will spend a generous amount of time with you on your presenting concerns and your goals for therapy. Having 20 years of experience, I can assess the therapy method most likely to be effective for your specific situation. My specialty is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and I find most clients achieve significant progress with this method. However, if I feel CBT is not appropriate for you, I have a number of experienced colleagues in my practice with different methods I can recommend (behaviorhealthny.com).

I work with people navigating the complexities of neurodiversity, chronic illness, and/or disability. In a world with narrow expectations for how our brains and bodies should function, it’s easy to feel overlooked or misunderstood when you don’t fit these molds. For example, ADHD can make it tough to stay organized and regulate emotions, impacting everything from relationships to self-esteem. Autoimmune disorders can bring about ongoing stress, burnout, and unpredictable symptoms, disrupting our daily routines. These struggles can understandably become tangled up with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, and substance use.

Inspired by the book, Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents by Clinical Psychologist Lindsay Gibson, this is a virtual therapeutic group for adults. An emotionally immature parent is one who could be present physically, but unable to provide nurturing and validation children need. Qualities of these parents include: tendency to be rigid, resistant to repairing relationships, lack respect for differences and their self esteem depends on child's compliance. Part of how the children adapt is ignoring what they need in effort to satisfy the unsatisfiable parent. The group will explore how these patterns can maladaptively interfere today. NYS residents.

I believe in the importance and convergence of not only inner healing, but also reaching out to the world for support and community. I have witnessed the power of women coming together to witness and support one another. One of the most difficult aspects of contemplating these big questions, is the loneliness and secrecy. This group is the antidote to that. My aim is to help you find greater connection to Self, which in turn connects you to intuition and then helps you make wise choices grounded in knowing, whether that is deciding to stay or leave.

The way I see it, the goal of therapy is to bolster you so that you can maneuver whatever life brings your way. Depression, anxiety, and trauma all block our capacity to experience the wide range of emotions that give life it's vitality. As your therapist, I will be a secure and safe support as we explore patterns in your emotions and relationships, I will encourage you to experience life in a present-focused and embodied manner, and I will help to foster the growth of your natural strengths and resiliencies. Ultimately, I want to help my clients to reclaim their unique identity and to become better friends to themselves.

Therapy is about both addressing specific issues which may be getting in our way as well as cultivating a healthy curiosity about ourselves, our patterns, and our experiences. Life is wrought with transitions which can catch us off-guard, and it is common to feel unsure as to whether we are on the right path. Thankfully, these can be successfully navigated collaboratively and discreetly through a relationship with a trusted professional. Gaining an understanding of ourselves through identifying our blind spots is the first step in establishing a life that is both purposeful and fulfilling.

If you are a queer and/or trans person of color looking to explore the ways that your intersectional identities shape your life, I may be the right fit for you! I'm interested in working with folks who want to move beyond mainstream, Western narratives of mental health and well-being, and connect with the roots and paths that have forged your unique path. How do we define our "best self", and what societal structures may have impacted that idea? How do we move towards being more comfortable and vulnerable at the expense of shattering lifelong ideas of how we are meant to live?

Focus will be on communicating a full range of emotions to one another, giving and receiving feedback, learning to take in what lands while letting go of what doesn't. We will drop our old stories of who we aren't and who we can't be, and dissolve the projections we place over those who come into our lives. We will hold one another accountable through weekly self-created challenges that further us on our individual missions in the world. Breath work and meditations will allow participants to become clearer, more embodied, and beyond.

For over 20 years I've been doing deep, transformative, life-changing work with individuals and families all over the country who've lost someone they love to suicide.
