Support Groups in New York, NY

This pandemic has causes so much uncertainty and robbed us of a sense of control. For some, when we feel out of control, we might fixate on body-related insecurities or ways of finding control through food/exercise. If this rings true for you, my Zoom group therapy could give you an outlet and a source of support. I am limiting the group size to 6-8 individuals and will start in early/mid June. *This is a group for cis/trans women and non-binary individuals only.*

Substance abuse and addiction affect not only the addict, but also the addict's partner and the couple as unit. When addicts enter recovery, relationship dynamics also inevitably change, which often activates new issues that the couple must address together. This group allows partners to share these relational shifts with other couples encountering similar concerns, while I provide support and guidance to help everyone navigate these sometimes rocky waters.

Joining a group may sound intimidating at first, but group therapy provides benefits that individual may not. Groups can act as a support and a sounding board. Other members of the group can help you come up with specific ideas for improving a difficult situation or life challenge, and hold you accountable along the way, Regularly talking and listening to others also helps you put your own problem in perspective. Often you may feel you are the only one struggling, but you are not. It can be a relief to hear others and learn that you are not alone.
