If you’re tired of Grindr but baffled by intimacy, this therapist-led group for gay men is your safe place to talk about it. As queer people, we’re taught having a mask helps us survive yet we also want meaningful connections. So how do we let go and allow for vulnerability when it feels right and protect ourselves when it doesn’t?

If you find yourself relying on habits like scrolling, drinking, smoking, overworking, or checking out just to get through the day, you’re not alone. These patterns often begin as ways to cope, but can leave you feeling disconnected from how you want to live. This group is for individuals who want to understand these patterns and shift them with intention. We explore patterns across substance use, technology, and everyday coping habits. Participants build awareness, reduce shame, and develop more intentional ways of relating to themselves. As patterns shift, space opens up to reconnect with your values, relationships, and sense of purpose.

This is a therapeutically guided online space for partners of all genders and sexualities impacted by betrayal trauma from infidelity and sexual compulsivity. We emphasize psychoeducation, proportionate boundaries, core needs, and emotional stability—grounded in recovery rather than venting alone. Members gain clarity through discovery/disclosure, relational decisions, and personal renewal in a supportive community. Longer-term members share lived experience and hope, offering reality-based solutions to move beyond betrayal's looping pain toward self-reintegration and resilience.

This 6-week group (on Zoom) is for sex addicts in all stages of recovery. We explore the roots of the addiction in the individual's early environment, where the essentials needed to develop self-esteem and secure attachment may be inadequate or lacking. The individual increasingly learns to turn to sexual behavior as their problem-solver, in a misguided attempt to find the nurturance and intimacy they yearn for. We use psychoeducational and experiential modalities to support participants in developing these growth-producing essentials for themselves. A 10-Day in-person Intensive Program is offered after the group.

Group therapy for sexual addiction helps provide a safe forum where group members who have a shared experience experience with sexual addiction can find support and help. The group experience helps combat the intense shame and sense of isolation that a sex addict often experiences. Group therapy is a very powerful therapeutic experience in a way that other modes of therapy are not. Clients often find that group therapy is an excellent way to learn how others perceive them, how they relate to others, and how they view themselves.

This group is designed to help men find sexual health and move away from destructive sexual behaviors. The group is a free-flowing therapeutic experience. It is a non-judgmental space to work on understanding sexual, emotional, and personal needs and navigating those needs. The SAT Project is sex positive and supports the relational model(s) you seek, including monogamy, consensual non-monogamy, polyamory, kink-related sexuality, etc. You will work with the Director of the program who has been in the field for 30 years. Dr. Crocker believes that sexuality mirrors emotionality, so working on these parallels is necessary.

Sexual Addiction Support Groups
When should someone seek treatment for sex addiction?
People should seek treatment for sex addiction if they cannot control their sexual thoughts or behaviours to the point that it disrupts their ability to function in daily life, for example by threatening their finances, career, or relationships. This may include spending an excessive amount of time obsessing over sex, planning sex, watching pornography, or masturbating, as well as consistently engaging in risky sexual activities, using sex to escape distressing feelings, or attempting yet failing to control sexual behavior.
What are the most common treatment options for sex addiction?
Psychotherapy is the most common treatment for sex addiction; therapy helps patients better understand their compulsive thoughts and behaviors and develop strategies to manage their desires. Therapy may be supplemented by medications, such as antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anti-androgens, and the alcohol and substance use medication Naltrexone, as well as support groups, such as 12-step programs.
How long does therapy take for sex addiction?
Recovering from compulsive behavior takes time and effort. There’s no precise timeline for treatment, but research suggests 12 therapy sessions may be enough to see change. Treatment for sexual compulsions requires honesty in therapy, a commitment to understanding triggers and developing coping skills, and potential lifestyle changes such as cutting out alcohol or drugs.
What if sex addiction is left untreated?
Compulsive sexual behavior can have serious repercussions if left unaddressed. For example, if sexual obsessions consume the vast majority of a person’s time, they may lose their job. If they can’t stop paying for sex, their finances may suffer. If they’re dishonest in their relationships, their partner may leave them. If they consistently feel shame, they may struggle with anxiety, depression, or loneliness. Therapy can help people develop the tools to manage sexual thoughts and behaviors that feel uncontrollable.
