This is a therapist led group. The primary focus is adult men's recovery from the impact of their childhood sexual abuse or other trauma. The ongoing group has between 2 - 8 men at any time. All men are welcome: straight, cross-dressing, curious, bi, gay, trans. While the details of our stories are unique, the overarching issues are universal and transcend our differences. Concurrent weekly individual therapy with a therapist is required.

My clients want to improve mood, self-esteem, relationships, sleeping habits, etc., and come to realize that something happens within the client/therapist relationship that does not happen alone. My typical client shows improvement within a few months, and then eventually meets with me less frequently (for 'tune-ups'). And, my clients sometimes return to sessions with me after leaving therapy, if things begin to go awry.
Join the Men's Therapy Group, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy (ST), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB). do you have limiting or self-defeating patterns? Whether you're struggling or feeling like you want to take a big step forward. I'm passionate about helping individuals overcome limiting or self-defeating patterns. My approach is a blend of various modalities to meet you where you are. The aim is to create an integrated treatment approach. This approach allows us to explore our earlier experiences while also embracing the present moment and its potential. In the work, we co-create practical action steps to help you move closer to your values. The incorporation of somatic techniques allows you to tune into the body's wisdom.
Weekly ongoing adult process group conducted on Zoom for exploration of the ways in which we seek to connect with others and the ways in which we sabotage developing deeper connection. All genders welcome, must be in individual therapy (doesn't matter where or with whom), must meet with facilitator for screening to determine fit, must be willing to make a minimum commitment of 6-months weekly attendance.

You've focused so much on career (and successfully so) that some of the other major pieces of life that you just assumed would fall into place have...well...they just HAVEN'T. I founded The Keely Group (Online Therapy NYC) in 2016 to offer virtual to people whose lives "look great on paper" but are missing something important. Perhaps that's a great romantic partner or close friendships; maybe it's some relief from the chronic (albeit high-functioning) anxiety that keeps you up at night or some balance so as to enjoy the parts of your life that really are great. Regardless, we can help.
This is an online weekly interpersonal process group for gay men seeking to learn how to express their feelings and vulnerabilities with others. Group members have the opportunity to improve interpersonal and coping skills, practice new communication strategies in a safe environment, share their experiences of struggles common to members of the LGBTQIA+ community, obtain feedback from other group members, boost self-confidence, and experience relief from emotional distress through the process of connecting with others.

Welcome! I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience. I am passionate about providing relationally-oriented, evidence-based care to adults and adolescents. As an integrative psychotherapist, I draw from cognitive-behavioral, experiential, and attachment-based approaches to help individuals who are struggling with emotional pain to live rich and meaningful lives. Through close collaboration with me, my clients cultivate new ways of being both with themselves and others.
In this support group you will learn healthy coping and problem-solving skills. This will help you increase your ability to manage your addictive thoughts and feelings in order to live a more fulfilling life. Sex addiction support groups are proven to be most effective in relation to relapse prevention and shame reduction. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to assist the group with processing. Our group is a safe and judgment free place to recover and is for men in all stages of recovery. We have new groups opening each quarter. We are meeting on Zoom for the time being.

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
