This group offers men a space to process and manage their anger. Rage and poorly communicated anger can devastate trust and functioning in healthy relationships. The group helps members gain insight into their anger, learn strategies for coping, and improve their ability to express themselves effectively. By promoting spontaneous sharing, the group aims to foster deeper connections and authentic relationships among its members. Men's groups uniquely allow men from various backgrounds to connect and support each other.

I believe in the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship - as a site for activation, reflection, examination, change, and corrective emotional experiences. So often the very things that have helped protect us throughout our lives also create barriers and challenges. Therapy offers us a space to slow down and explore these defenses and patterns, and to develop healthier alternatives. We will work collaboratively to reach mutual understanding, honest emotional expression, and to acknowledge and nourish your true self, in all of its complexity - which will hopefully lead to a more authentic, vibrant, fulfilling life.

We cannot change what has happened to us, but we can change what we do with it. I aim to empower clients to overcome triggers from past traumas that are creating obstacles in present. My experience of navigating the sometimes rough waters of understanding my own asexual, biracial identity, has created a drive in me to be a helping hand and an empathetic ally for all those who are trying to figure out who they are. With empathy, compassion, and acceptance, I serve as a guide to my clients' as they embark on a journey of self-exploration, as a witness to their stories, and as a partner in achieving their goals and desires.
Just starting. Open to new members.

We are conditioned to avoid pain and we think and behave in certain ways learned through our upbringing, culture and other life experiences. At times the way we interpret situations in our lives can impact the way we relate to others, especially our signifant other, in both a negative and positive way. Therapy gives us the opportunity to reflect on these experiences and interpretations of our world in order to recognize what no longer serves us. Sometimes all we need is the right guidance to get on the right course of action for growth.
Becoming a father can be hard. Coinciding with the joy of witnessing new life, the experience can be overwhelming, exhausting, and even triggering. The New Fathers Group is a space for fathers to gather, share, and support one another in the beautiful struggle of parenthood.

I am here with you. Well, not yet. But when I’m with you, I’m with you. With you in your pain and loneliness, your sadness and anger, your joy, surprise and inspiration. With you in your transition, your loss, your growth and transformation. Therapy with me is a creative process of exploration and discovery in the here and now. I believe that we have a boundless capacity to grow and change, to heal and become unstuck from self-denying, self-destructive ways of being. I also believe that your experience of being stuck is REAL; it’s not “all in your head” and you can’t “just snap out of it.” I know because I’ve been there.

“There is no greater agony than bearing the untold story inside you.” - Maya Angelou. Each person’s story shapes them and a burden to carry alone that is relieved when met with empathy. I consider it an honor to be present with clients as they share their untold story, gain greater self-knowledge, and manifest the story that is yet to come. I come from a place of curiosity and non-judgement around each individual’s lived experience. I hope to create a warm, accepting space where you can be your authentic self, feel safe to express your uncensored thoughts and share both laughter and tears.

This group is designed to help men find sexual health and move away from destructive sexual behaviors. The group is a free-flowing therapeutic experience. It is a non-judgmental space to work on understanding sexual, emotional, and personal needs and navigating those needs. The SAT Project is sex positive and supports the relational model(s) you seek, including monogamy, consensual non-monogamy, polyamory, kink-related sexuality, etc. You will work with the Director of the program who has been in the field for 30 years. Our sexuality can provide a way to feel connected and loved. Often times it can become out-of-control that actually creates disconnection, loneliness and isolation. My area of speciality is in addressing these issues of sexuality and intimacy related struggles. I use an attachments-based approach which includes assessment of attachment styles and helps to move my clients in the direction of a more secure style of attaching and connecting. I help my clients to enhance the balance of love, work and play in their lives.

At The Sexuality, Attachment, and Trauma Project, we provide identity-affirming care for all communities. Our patients are people, not problems, and we work with each person differently. We treat a range of issues related to sexuality and gender. These include out-of-control sexual behavior, sometimes labeled sex addiction (although we’re not fans of labels). Patients also come to us for intimacy anxiety, sexual compulsivity, gender and orientation confusion, LGBTQ+ issues, and family trauma.

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
