About

My clients would describe me as competent, easy to talk to and compassionate. I am passionate about creating an environment where you can feel safe and heard. Carl Rogers once said, “We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know.” I believe that therapeutic work is most helpful when you can sense that you are working with a therapist who genuinely cares and will listen. From that foundation, there will also be space for you to reflect and receive insight that will aid in meeting your goals.
I specialize in treating victims of sexual, physical, emotional and psychological abuse, family members and loved ones of those impacted by addiction, PTSD, dissociative disorders and anxiety related disorders.
I am trained in evidence-based approaches including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) a therapy method used to treat anxiety, addiction, grief and loss, and PTSD. You can read more about me on my website at www.whiterocktherapy.net.
