Group is currently inactive. This group is for women who have experienced infidelity in their marriage or relationship. The purpose of this women's group is to initiate discussion on why people cheat, and the emotional instability it can cause as a result. I understand Infidelity is a perverse topic due to feelings of shame, embarrassment and even guilt. This group will give you an opportunity to share and identify with other women, and develop a new framework for understanding relationships.

The anger management group is specifically designed for people who realize they have a problem with controlling their emotions and impulses, their reactions to feelings of anger, and find it difficult to respond to challenging situations of any nature in a non-harmful way. Typically, anger is a secondary emotional response to a primary emotion (sadness, fear, etc.) can be found underneath the anger. Fear includes feelings like anxiety and worry, and sadness comes from the experience of loss, disappointment, or discouragement. This class is offered nationwide and also in Spanish if requested.

Your phone buzzes — "call me back" — and before you've tapped the message, your stomach has dropped. That's an ADHD nervous system telling you the truth. SkillLab is where we work with it instead of around it. A 5-week small group for adults with ADHD. Each 90-minute session blends neuroscience, somatic practice, and real connection — moving your brains forward together. You'll leave with body-based tools for grounding when activated, moving when frozen, meeting RSD with steadiness, and building your own regulation toolkit. Facilitated by Darlene Mew - trauma-informed, somatic, ADHD herself. Come learn your brain.

Substance abuse groups with 10 or fewer participants use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ( CBT), mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to support recovery. CBT helps individuals identify and change harmful thought patterns linked to substance use, while mindfulness techniques teach awareness and stress management to control cravings. MI focuses on enhancing motivation for change, resolving ambivalence, and strengthening commitment to recovery goals. The small group setting fosters personal interaction, providing a supportive environment where participants can share experiences, develop coping strategies, and build self-efficacy to overcome addiction.

This is a term-long counseling group where participants will play in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign facilitated by a Clinical Counselor and Applied Therapeutic Game Master trained in the therapeutic application of tabletop role-playing games. This is a process-based group (meaning your growth and improvements result mostly from your interactions with others in the group) so significant participation from participants is expected and encouraged! This group can be of benefit for many reasons, but is especially geared towards those having some difficulty with social functioning, neurodivergence, or an unstable sense of self.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Support Groups
How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?
Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
