This group will explore, teach and encourage the application of cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness based skills in a variety of day to day situations to address recovery needs in the area of violence intervention and substance abuse. Coping skills, emotional regulation, reframing cognitions and managing behavior are highlighted throughout the course. Distress tolerance and mindlfulness based practices are supported. This is a group designed to support those with addictions, anxiety disorders, trauma history, depression and adjustment disorders to assist in management of distress.
