Mothers of Daughters With Eating Disorders

Group for mothers whose daughters struggle with eating/body image issues. Provides safe, non-judgmental space for members to empower themselves so they can support their daughters, helping members challenge the powerlessness and helplessness that accompany parenting a daughter with an eating disorder. Members explore their reactions triggered by their daughters. Group works toward strengthening each mother's anti-eating disorder voice. These voices can be mobilized to help daughters challenge destructive eating practices, challenge culturally based toxic ideas about body/food, offering new ways of thinking about living freely in a female body in our thinness obsessed culture.
