This group is open to adult survivors of suicide loss who are age 25 years and older. The loss of a loved one needs to have taken place 3+ months prior to joining the group. The grief of losing a loved one to suicide creates intense feelings that are often hard to describe to someone that has not experienced a suicide loss. There is often more shock, a greater sense of injustice, guilt, and blame, and a heightened sense of helplessness for people who lose a person to suicide. All of these factors can complicate the healing process for survivors.

This therapy group is for individuals interested in cultivating more satisfying relationships with themselves and others. The group helps individuals heal attachment wounds, improve emotional availability, and form deeper connections both inside and outside of the group. With a focus on here-and-now sharing of thoughts and feelings members gain insight into problematic relational patterns and practice healthier ways of relating. Clients often find that combining individual and group therapy accelerates healing. Group is also a highly effective stand-alone treatment for clients that have done considerable work in individual therapy and are ready for a new challenge.

My clients are growth-minded adults that want to improve their relationship with self and others, process relational trauma, and/or address career concerns.
On the outside you look like you've got it completely together, but inside you're struggling. Perhaps you are self-critical, disconnected from others, or stuck in a job that is not the right fit. Or maybe you are enduring a painful dynamic in your relationship with your romantic partner, parent, child, friend, or co-worker. If any of these resonate, self-exploration can help you discover the root cause of your shame, loneliness, disconnection, existential angst, and stagnation. With help, you can cultivate a kinder relationship with yourself, deeper connections with others, and a more meaningful life at work and beyond.
Based on my book, Staying Sharp, this 8 session group combines modern science findings and teachings & practices from ageless wisdom traditions to help participants (age 45+) to re-vitalize their lives, re-connect with their higher purpose, and re-focus their relationships & actions around living with meaning and joy. Group to begin in September 2016.

Hello! My name is Andrew and thanks for considering my profile. Reaching out to a therapist can be intimidating, especially when you are feeling stressed or unhappy. The first thing you should know about me is that I am laid-back, informal, and nonjudgmental; I just refuse to be the cold, clinical therapist-type! I will work hard to establish a real connection with you and to create a truly safe and compassionate environment for new insight, growth and healing. I believe the most important part of therapy is the alliance between therapist and client; if we don’t have a strong connection, sessions aren’t as effective.
