We all need emotional support in our lives. I respect the fact that it takes a level of bravery to step outside one's comfort zone to seek help in times of trouble. Getting therapy does not mean that you are "crazy". Instead, therapy can be empowering, and exercises our emotional potential. I provide an objective perspective and empathy that you may not typically receive from friends or family. I am honored to work with those who are attempting to seek help in bettering their lives.

You deserve better. It’s as simple as that. Yet believing it is one thing and achieving it is another. Life’s uncertainties keep coming and your responsibilities are still calling. It feels like you are being pulled and all directions to keep your family and house afloat. You may be trying to hold everything and everyone together, yet it all keeps falling apart. Just when it feels like everything is going well, you start to worry about when the other shoe will drop. Do these thoughts resonate? Possibly life is going okay for you, yet your child can’t cope with all of life’s changes.
This group's focus is on supporting parents become their child's biggest cheerleader by recognizing their inner strengths, structuring productive discipline, and supporting healthy neuro-emotional development. Do you have a difficult behavior that you are struggling to understand the reinforcement behind? Or a child that would benefit from more productive structure? Or perhaps you are feeling isolated as a new parent and wondering if you're doing everything wrong? You are not alone! Give us a call today to find our when our next meeting is. Open to parents of minor children.

My clients often come to me looking for peace and rebalance after a difficult and sometimes traumatic experience. They are looking for a safe place to unpack everything that has happened and piece it all back together in a way that creates meaningfulness out of the chaos. Often, I work with the whole family structure, as we rarely experience anything purely individually. That might look like helping partners rediscover their feelings for each other or reestablishing appropriate roles and boundaries between partners or parents and their children. Sometimes it is helping those families restructure after a big life change or event.
Women often do not tell anyone of their abuse because of shame and fear they will be judged. Often they are older when they come forward for help. Regardless of age and how long ago the abuse occurred, they almost always feel they are the only one with this experience and believe no one could ever understand. Being with other survivors , receiving support and giving support to others is the most healing experience you will ever have...

**Accepting new clients** Strong people ask for help, knowing that everybody has a story and within each of us lies the ability to examine the past so we can move into the future. I encourage you to ask yourself not "what's wrong with me ?" but rather, "what happened to me?" Stop thinking "I need therapy" and start focusing on "I want therapy." Therapy is not about mental illness - it's about mental health. Focus on the fact that therapy is an experience that is normal, natural and a journey others have navigated. Life presents all of us with challenges but if we meet the challange and learn from it then we also grow from it.

Divorce Support Groups
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.
What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.
When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.
How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
