What makes me an effective therapist is my ability to build a strong therapeutic alliance by meeting clients where they are and helping them explore past relationships, patterns, unconscious drives, and defenses. I integrate both psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches. Specialities include: trauma, grief, & depression/anxiety.

Your authority is in your authenticity, simply meaning the more honest, accepting, vulnerable and open you are with yourself first, is the more empowered you will be to address and heal any area of your life. We must radically accept our selves with compassion and honor. Self honor is the beginning of personal freedom. Radical self acceptance is the antecedent. I promote and empower positivity in your daily reality. Many of us struggle with societal and internal pressures and judgements. Because we judge ourselves in our minds, we find ourselves trapped often in them, limiting our potential and dishonoring our truths. I want to partner with you by helping you get out of your mind and past ways and get into your life, living in the present possibilities. My ideal client(s) are people who are willing to learn and grow within. I have no biases with religion, size, race, sexuality age and gender. It is my practice to be judgement free and accepting.

My auto accident recovery group meets three days a week for one hour. Issues include coping with posttraumatic stress disorder, physical pain, depression, loss of preinjury lifestyle and family adjustment. The group is open ended and new members join as needed.

My Clinical Psychology private practice allows for maximum individual attention and confidentiality. Since 1988, I have specialized in treating trauma conditions resulting from war, auto, workplace, violence and residuals of childhood abuse. Related conditions include depression, anxiety, physical pain, relationship difficulties, addictions and cognitive disorders. As a result of auto and occupational injuries, many patients/clients suffer Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injuries; and they can greatly benefit from my individual and group psychotherapy. I am a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist so some of my work involves cases in litigation including evaluations, testimony and expert witness services.
This group is one of the hardest groups to facilitate. The emotional tension is high and beautiful all at the same time. Meet with people who share similar trauma responses and other symptoms experienced with losing a child. All participants are interviewed so that their is cohesion in the group. Co-facilitators include interns who are supervised by myself. They help by adding an extra set of eyes to meet your needs.

I have counseled many dynamics and genre, however, my specialty lies in trauma and complicated grief. We all need a safe place to talk and express our emotions...knowing that the person listening understands the impact of YOUR loss/trauma on YOUR life. Many times we learn through our tragedies...but ALWAYS it changes who we are and our perspective. By talking out the new emotional/perspective changes, at times forced upon you, we can defuse the shame, the fear, and the doubts; helping you move forward from tragedy. The fact is you CAN move forward, through and past tragedy.
Depression group, purpose to initiate a sense of belonging and understanding, by sharing common experiences. The goal is for clients to learn through group engagement and support effective coping skills to manage depression symptoms.

I believe clients are their own expert, and that with my guidance they can explore and challenge their own deeply imbedded inner core beliefs, and re-engineer them. Learning and speaking the client's language is tantamount to helping someone move forward towards a positive change. Clients begin to understand themselves better, and this allows the transition. I also believe that fear is one of the most debilitating emotions that we can have. It stops us dead in our tracks. We need to attack the fear, but first understand its roots. I like to be known as my client's "life coach!"
