At the Mindfulness & Change Group, I specialize in treating adolescents and young adults who are struggling with depression and anxiety. I have particular expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and provide both group and individual DBT. With warmth, thoughtfulness, and direction, I help my clients build on their strengths while learning more helpful ways to cope with their difficulties. By identifying the goals that make life worth living for each unique individual and taking the time to understand my clients' struggles, I make therapy safe and validating.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults who have often had unsuccessful prior treatment experiences. They feel that my knowledge and holistic approach to treatment will provide them with a healthier pathway forward in their life. Although I have a depth of experience to share with my patients I value learning from them on a daily basis. To facilitate change I employ a range of focused DBT and CBT strategies that I also teach to younger clinicians who train with my practice. I have maintained a professional home for 30 years at Harvard Medical School where I serve as a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry.

Embarking on a therapeutic journey is a courageous step, driven by a flicker of hope that your circumstances can get better. I understand the weight of this decision and the importance of finding a therapist who feels like a trustworthy ally—a non-judgmental listener who can help you learn more about yourself, your unique patterns, and what you need in relationships. In our initial sessions, I prioritize creating a space where we can explore whether we're a good fit for this collaborative journey.

Chronic pain is isolating. For high school students, who may struggle to attend school, extra curriculars, or social events, the isolation from their peers can be especially damaging. Chronic pain can lead to hopelessness and withdrawal from life. These groups are a place for teens to connect, to support one another, to learn from one another, and to figure out how to live meaningful lives despite their pain. Open to Massachusetts high school age students, online, Mondays 4pm and/or Saturdays at 9am (choose one or both groups) $150 a month for one group. Discount for attending both groups.
