Specialty Groups for Anxiety & Trauma
Anxiety Group: Skills-based group that incorporates Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and exposure/CBT to help people relate to and cope with anxiety more effectively. Going into NYC to address anxiety directly and experiential exercises, make this a sometimes scary, but fun group!). Skills Training in Affective & Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR) Group is for people who have had traumatic experiences. Clients learn skills to become more aware of (and comfortable with) emotions, develop healthy coping skills for distressing feelings, learn to identify unhealthy relationship patterns and improve current relationships by understanding of the impact traumatic experiences have had on them.
