Do you wonder if therapy will actually make a difference with your anxiety? Have you been in therapy before but it didn't create lasting change? The word "therapy" can cause a lot of different thoughts for people. I believe therapy is a place to understand the different patterns our minds have created to avoid pain. They often work well, but only in the short term. These patterns have usually been created from an earlier time in our life. However, they are now causing us more problems than solutions as adults. Understanding these parts of ourselves can create change that lasts long term and reduce the hamster wheel of anxiety.

Many individuals may not be a fan of therapy, which is okay! It is important to find what works best for an individual, whether it is a mix of talk therapy and exercise, but the main point is to find a healthy way of coping. There is no age limit to being able to come into therapy but glad that an individual can find their way into it; there is a lot of stigma surrounding mental health that is from their upbringing, culture, or background.

Accepting new clients of all ages with immediate availability! As a sex therapist, I pride myself on setting a space that permits you to take an inspired role in your healing journey, and it is my job to provide support and empowerment. I understand that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all practice, which is why I tailor my approach to each client depending on the nuance of the situation. It gives my life meaning to participate in a healing community, working one-on-one with people, offering a safe space to process whatever is needed: life, relationships, triggers, and other obstacles, and develop useful and pragmatic coping tools.

Parenting is hard, and parenting with a difficult co-parent is even harder. Divorce can be complicated, disheartening and dehumanizing. We see the value in divorced parents coming together as a community to cope with stressors such as: parenting young children, active litigation, trauma, loss of relationships and abuse. The group is peer/professionally led. Please reach out to inquire or join this monthly support community. Support group is free of charge.

At some point in life we all need a little help finding our way back to our sense of self and security. Life events, a global pandemic, mental illness, substance abuse, and trauma can take us all off course. Therapy can be what helps to guide us back to our path. I believe healing occurs in the context of human relationships, so I take a relational approach to therapy. Understanding and finding satisfying relationships are vital to our mental health and life quality. Children, adolescents and adults all want to be heard and understood, and therapy can aid in finding emotional connection.

Discernment counseling is a way for couples to look at their options before making a final decision about divorce. It is most appropriate for couples where one partner wants to preserve and repair the relationship and the other is leaning towards ending it. This approach differs from regular marriage counseling in three ways: a) the goal is not to solve problems in the relationship, but to figure out whether the problems can be solved; b) the process involves mainly individual conversations with each partner, since they each have different needs and agendas, and c) it is always short term.

I approach therapy with a compassionate and trauma informed lens, viewing clients as more than what has happened to them. I seek to empower clients to recognize that through conscious awareness, compassion, & acceptance, everything they need is already within. I provide a non-shaming space where I guide clients in reconnecting with their authentic selves and in building a deeper understanding of their internal world. Grounded in attachment theory, I also use a systemic lens which understands the important interplay between human behavior & past and current environmental influences and relationships with family, friends, and culture.
