I know from my own experience that finding the right counselor is hard. With this in mind, consultations and first sessions are always free, rates are flexible, and sessions are half off during the month of May, for Mental Health Awareness Month. I enjoy individual therapy, as well as working with couples and families. I see kids, teens and adults, and I'm a big fan of group therapy, since this is a unique, underutilized, and financially sensible way to access effective care. Let’s find out what will work best for you!
This group meets online to support women struggling with addictive or self-medicating behaviors during this isolating time. All forms of self-medicating welcome such as: pornography, sex, drugs/alcohol, food, video games, work, gambling and relationships. This is group of 8-10 women that learn tools to more effectively maintain healthy long-term sobriety. The group is actively engaged in each other's lives outside of group time throughout the week via text/phone. The opposite of addiction is not sobriety; It's connection! My passion is to help people rebuild their relationship with God; to thrive in sobriety. I have extensive experience with individuals that struggle with addictive and compulsive behaviors such as: sex, pornography, drugs, alcohol, codependent relationships, etc. Over the past few years, I obtained more specialized education to specifically assist with sex, pornography and lust addiction through the work of Dr. Patrick Carnes Ph.D; a pioneer in the field of sex addiction. His work combined with a method to heal relational/attachment wounds, called "IFS", is the best strategy that I have found for recovery.
This new couples seminar is a new and exciting way to learn key skills and approaches for developing a close and healthy relationship, or to reconnect/rebuild after conflict. This group combines primary concepts from a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches with the research of Dr. Bean and others. This 10-session seminar covers concepts from the Gottman Method, Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Anger Management, trauma therapy, and Intimate Partner Violence treatment approaches. Although it is encouraged to engage with the group, there is no requirement for participation in the group.
Life sometimes doesn't go as planned and some challenges can benefit from an experienced guide. I am a specialist in treating trauma and in working with couples. I seek to help develop the tools needed by each unique client using evidence-based approaches balanced with patience, warmth, and enthusiasm. I try to meet each person where you are, discover the strengths within, and focus on helping you live a life based on what you value. I believe communication and boundaries are vital in all relationships and try to provide a supportive, encouraging, sometimes light-hearted, and non-judgmental space for exploration and healing for all.
This group is for adults diagnosed with ADHD or Autism or who suspect they may have ADHD or that they are Autistic. It focuses on process, support, building community and effective strategies for managing executive dysfunction, self-advocacy, responding to ableism, navigating social systems, and dealing with sensory overload. Group sessions are 50$ cash, insurance coverage may be available depending on your plan. I am always accepting new group members. Virtual and in-person groups are available.

RISING STRONG™ - group based on the research of Brené Brown. The physics of vulnerability is simple: If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. Rising Strong is a book about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life. Here's how Brené describes the progression of her work: The Gifts of Imperfection - Be you. Daring Greatly - Be all in. Fall. Get up. Try again.

Have irritability and resentment hijacked your joy? Despite all you’ve achieved, you still feel unseen and unappreciated. Staying busy with work and activities helps you avoid uncomfortable emotions. Yet the relationships that matter most are complicated, leaving you disappointed, empty and lonely. Fear of rejection and failure keep you doubting your worth. Rest and asking for what you need feels selfish. So you push everything down to prevent the floodgates from opening. I help people lean into their emotions and safely express their feelings so they can trust themselves to show up in their relationships with confidence.

When you consider your life, think in terms of possibility, rather than limitations. Effective counseling should provide a steady progression from confusion, uncertainty, and wounding toward healing, health and well-being. To offer this kind of therapy, I fine-tune my ear to your individual needs and your situation. Your solutions must fit with your principles and values. Simply put, I see no point in offering cookie-cutter answers. As a member of Your Team, I will help you uncover both creative and plausible solutions to seemingly impossible problems.

I work best with clients who are ready to begin the sometimes difficult work of exploring who they are, setting goals, and discovering how to make changes to improve their lives. For those who are not quite sure where to begin I provide support, education, and a safe space to delve into the possibilities of how they might create the life they want. See below for the 2 groups I am currently running.
Are you seeking a deeper sense of fulfillment and balance in life? Do you struggle to feel happy or content with your loved ones? With yourself? This group is ideal for professional men who are: Seeking greater meaning and purpose in their lives; Struggling with work-life balance; Experiencing stress, anxiety, and/or burnout; Looking to build authentic connections; Ready to make lasting changes towards a more fulfilling life
I specialize in working with professionals, people who feel stuck in a career about which they have no passion, especially people floundering in a corporate existence; uncomfortable in a family and home life that is dissatisfying – feeling trapped by the socioeconomic responsibilities they chose to pursue when they were too young and inexperienced to be setting down permanent life-tracks, tracks that now feel more like ruts from which there is no escape.
This is a group that has been in existence on and off for the past 20 years in Boise. The group provides women who have experienced trauma to express thoughts and ideas about their trauma, and process feelings through verbal exchange and the arts along with receiving support from other group members and psycho-education and guidance from the group facilitator. The facilitator has 30+ years of experience with running process and art therapy groups. Contact Dr. Mariella Hogan Gotz for more information or to safe a spot to participate in the group. In an ever changing world with so many hardships and challenges, I have dedicated my life to helping people make sense out of their struggles and to find more peace. I believe in people, and I believe that in a safe and supportive environment with a skillful and responsible guide, people are capable of incredible accomplishments, leading to changes that enable more peace and joyful living. I believe that people develop maladaptive patterns of living and relating and that sometimes simple changes in habits, thinking, growing and understanding, can lead to happier, healthier lives and relationships. I'd be happy to receive your call!
Our Relapse Prevention program consists of 24 sessions. Generally, a participant can complete the program 24 group sessions which are held in accordance with the agency’s implementation needs and requirements. Clients are asked to complete their workbook homework prior to coming to each session. In the group, clients present their homework and the facilitator passes the client on to work on the next segment. Clients can be asked to re-do the homework if the objective criteria have not been met. All our groups are open-ended, which means new clients can enter an ongoing group at any time.
