Teen Support Groups in Boise, ID

I facilitate a weekly therapeutic support group on Wednesdays from 5:30pm to 7pm. The foundation of the group focuses on being fun, positively social, and practically helpful. Our desired outcomes for participants are to develop a sense of belonging in a healthy social group, to identify personal challenges and strategies to overcome them, to learn healthy social and relationship skills, and to learn how to support others and how to be supported by others who have similar experiences. There is no cost, and the group is facilitated by Bradley Midgett, Owner of Alpine Behavioral Health.

As a former school counselor, I ran many groups for teens, and found it a great format for learning coping skills. This group will support Preteens/Teens struggling with anxiety, in grades 6th-8th grade. We will use mindfulness, expressive art, and sand tray therapies to support anxiety management. Come and meet new friends, and learn tools you can use, in a safe space.*Group will start in mid September, contact me for more info/to register.

DBT is a skill focused group, in which teens develop and implement skills to manage their complex emotions, stop impulsive behaviors (such as self-harm or suicide attempts), and change negative thinking patterns, while increasing interpersonal effectiveness. Our DBT informed counselors work to create a validating and motivating environment, in which teens are provided experiential activities that are of interest to them. Two groups are offered to ensure developmental compatibility. Parents are provided educational information on DBT skills, to further enhance teens DBT skill application.

Teen Support Groups
Therapy support groups for teens in Boise provide support during the transitional period where teens can bring up issues of independence and self-identity in a supportive environment.

Group therapy brings adolescents together who struggle with similar issues. It creates a safe space for teens to connect and support one another, while learning beneficial skills from an experienced therapist who serves as the group leader. Group therapy is an option that teens should consider as a powerful therapy alternative.
