Trauma and PTSD Support Groups in Georgia

This group provides a platform for adults to talk amongst peers, sharing thoughts, feelings, and experiences that delve into challenges and struggles that complicate their life situations. Individuals will explore where they are versus where they want to be, and learn the actions required to bridge the gap. Through guidance, exercises, and exploration, the group will learn valuable skills and techniques, specific to each individual, to help them achieve goals that will lead to personal growth and empowerment. Focus is on identifying needs, feelings, emotions, and limiting beliefs that impact decisions that you make.

The two parts of trauma are the threat of harm and the inability to stop it or get away. Trauma impacts us in many ways, ultimately it changes our beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. This shift effects our relationships, physical, mental, and emotional health. Experiential therapy uses expressive methods/activities to reenact or recreate specific situations from past and present situations (art, music, psychodrama, RRT). Family dynamics are the patterns and interactions we have with different members of our family unit. Each system has a unique set of dynamics that impact development, thoughts, behaviors, and interactions/connections with others.

A transformative Faith based support group for women who have experienced betrayal trauma as a result of their husbands’ addiction to sex and pornography. This faith-based group provides a confidential and compassionate space for women to process the deep pain that often accompanies betrayal while connecting with others who understand their unique challenges. The group is designed to help navigate the emotional fallout of betrayal, including feelings of grief, anger, and loss of trust. Through guided healing sessions, women will learn self-care, boundary-setting, and emotional resilience, empowering them to rebuild their lives regardless of their partner's recovery process.

If you believe in the power of forgiveness or curious about what it might look like to truly walk through that process, you may also recognize how difficult it can be to move from intention to emotional freedom. This trauma-informed group offers a supportive space for adults who want to work through the emotional pain of past hurts, betrayal, or unresolved relational wounds. When resentment, anger, or grief remain unprocessed, they can shape how we see ourselves and others, often manifesting as mistrust, rumination, or difficulty finding peace. Participants will have opportunities to acknowledge the impact of past wounds and begin releasing emotional burdens.

Trauma refers to the emotional reaction triggered by sudden events like accidents, rape, abuse, or natural disasters. Following such incidents, individuals may feel shocked, stuck, guarded, or in denial. Throughout life, we encounter various challenges including trauma, family conflict, crises, divorce, abuse, childhood trauma, physical illness, unemployment, grief/loss, or social issues, all of which can impact our well-being. Together, we'll address these challenges, overcome barriers, and provide tools to enhance your life experience. Our aim is to prevent the past from immobilizing you, empowering you to embrace today and build a healthier, happier tomorrow.

This women’s process group offers a warm, supportive space to connect with other women, deepen relational healing, and feel less alone in the work of recovery and growth. It is especially supportive for those healing attachment wounds and untangling the effects of trauma, shame, and painful relationship patterns. Together, we practice being seen, building emotional resilience, and creating new ways of relating to ourselves and others with more honesty, compassion, and trust.
