Anxiety Support Groups in Gainesville, GA

Most children of divorce feel they're the reason mom and dad divorced or in the process. The majority of children don't feel comfortable talking to either parent or asking questions regarding the divorce. This group offers children and teens a safe place to express their anger, frustrations, pain and their grief. They can share their stories and their feelings with other children or teens in similar situations. We work to find the right coping skills for each child or teen so they can thrive in this situation and in life.

Most clinicians are told to “get your hours and figure it out later.” Later often looks like burnout, high caseloads, and feeling unsure of your clinical work. Supervision shapes how you think, work, and build a sustainable career. This is not check-the-box supervision. At Georgia Supervision Lab, we focus on trauma-informed, EMDR-informed, depth-oriented work. You’ll build strong case conceptualization, clinical confidence, and clarity working with complex trauma. We also address caseloads, boundaries, and long-term sustainability. Online supervision available across Georgia.

This 8-week virtual group is for single women ages 29–45 who imagined life looking different by now — in love, family, or other major milestones. Groups are organized by age range (29–34 and 35–45) to create a more relatable and supportive space. Together we’ll process unmet expectations, comparison, and self-doubt while building emotional resilience and clarity about what comes next. This is a structured, therapeutic space to honor grief and intentionally redefine your next chapter.

We often overlook that kids need physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness, too! Kids struggle with social trauma from the remnants of parents stress or parents not being able to be present with kids. They are also struggling with the aftermath of COVID, social media madness and now the return of going back to school. Kids deserve to work through trauma that is stored in their body (often shows up as ADHD and anxiety) and address how to manage their emotions and behaviors related to how they handle and interact with others. It time of us to prioritize children’s wellness.

A group based on working along with others to discover alternatives to maladaptive ways of managing stress, resolving conflicts, communication. We work to become aware and then discover how to 'un-do' triggers that lead to undo stress and anxiety, promoting awareness in the present to manage life situations and transitions. Our group works to illuminate the ways to directly address issues as they emerge and avoid coping patterns that lead to sabotaging goals.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
