I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, OCD (including taboo OCD), ADHD, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other practical, evidence-based approaches to help shift unhelpful patterns and build skills that empower you to face life’s challenges. Every client is different, so your therapy will be tailored to fit your needs and goals. With OCD, I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to challenge symptoms.

Anger is unavoidable. We experience anger when we perceive a threat in the environment. Anger is meant to lead you to confront this threat, but your reaction may often not be appropriate for the situation you face. While anger is unavoidable, aggression is. This group focuses on helping you understand the science behind anger and identify anger reactions causing disruptive behavior. It will teach you how to notice anger triggers, anticipate, manage, and channel anger reactions, and ultimately develop a response that is commensurate and effective. Learn to turn anger into a purposeful action that gets you what you need.

Mind & Soul Therapy has been a life long dream for Rafael Padro and Dr. Mariela Padro. Healing comes naturally for them as they were raised in a family of behavioral health professionals. Through their upbringing and their individual experiences they have seen the benefits of psychotherapy in combination with Oriental Medicine. Their goal is to try to avoid the use of medications by providing complimentary and alternative medicine in conjunction with individual and group psychotherapy. Dr. Mariela Padro and Rafael Padro want to help each patient become aware of their behaviors and feelings towards their surrounding and interactions with others. By doing so, the patient can feel centered, peaceful and have a balanced state of mind and soul. We understand that there will be times when medications will be needed to help relieve some of the symptoms in a quicker way however we don't believe that medications is a long term solution which is why it is important to be willing to work hard at taking care of one's self by empowering our minds, learning from our mistakes, changing coping skills into healthier ones and healing our souls.

This group is ideal for men who want to explore themselves, deepen relationships and improve emotional intimacy. Some sessions have a specific men’s health topic, such as communication or intimacy. The information that I provide on these topics is practical and lends itself to a thoughtful discussion afterwards. As the discussion deepens, group members share their experience of the group dynamic with each other, which provides an opportunity for individuals to receive feedback about how they are perceived by others. You may schedule a 15-minute consultation with me, free of charge, to see if this may be a good opportunity for you.

I help individuals who are feeling stuck or disconnected explore what's getting in the way, and create a life that they find meaningful and fulfilling. I do this using evidence based methods that are tailored to the person's specific values, preferences, and needs. I believe that identifying your strengths and what drives you is as important as pinpointing problem areas. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free atmosphere so you can connect with your purpose, your most authentic self, and in turn, with others in your life.

This workshop is dedicated to 3 objectives: (1) to have you pause from your busy lives and to really see and attend to one another (2) to learn the best ways to communicate even under stress and frustration and (3) to identify your own limitations and strengths so that you can each bring less defensiveness and more lightness to life and the relationship.
