The Forgotten Mourners. Adult sibling loss is sometimes overlooked. When we lose our parents, we lose our past. When we lose a child, we lose the present and the future. But when we lose our sibling, we lose the past, present, and future. Our siblings represent many firsts in our lives, i.e. first friends, first fights. They represent our memories and our plans.
