Dialectical Behavior Therapy Group

We are pleased to offer five adult and two adolescent groups; our website (DenverDBT.com) provides more detailed information. Denver DBT's groups are psycho-educational in that you are learning and practicing new skills each week (we do assign homework, but it's typically not an overwhelming amount). The four main skills are: Mindfulness (increasing presence and self-awareness across situations), Distress Tolerance (learning how to survive difficult situations without making them worse), Emotion Regulation (teaching skills to help you understand and experience feelings in a less overwhelming way), Interpersonal Effectiveness (helping you strengthen personal and professional relationships and gain insight into relational patterns).

Mindfulness Group
The 1.5 hour weekly group combines Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, DBT's mindfulness training and Insight Oriented meditation techniques. It is ongoing, in that participants may join at any time (as long as there is an opening). Each group member is actively encouraged to adopt, maintain and/or deepen their daily mindfulness practice. Please visit the www.DenverDBT.com website and click on the mindfulness group link for more information.
