This group meets on Zoom. DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is a proactive, problem solving approach that teaches the skills needed to control intense emotions, improve relationships, manage distress and reduce self destructive behavior. There are 4 modules of DBT. This group is the The Distress Tolerance Module. Learn ways to change patterns of responding to difficult situations in ways that are destructive and make things worse. In this module you will learn both "crisis survival" skills, which focus on responding to short term negative situations AND "acceptance" based skills, which teach strategies to help participants cope better with long term painful situations.
