It is very common to experience anxiety and depression through the pregnancy to motherhood transition. We are constantly bombarded by images of “good mothering”, the idea of “balancing it all”, notions of “bouncing back”, and thoughts that it “should come naturally”. We will openly discuss how many opposing feelings live can side by side in a healthy way. Whether you are a first time mom-to-be or you’ve mothered before, please join us where you will learn coping strategies and communication skills as part of a radical self-care framework. This is a virtual group.

I believe that to truly understand you, we need to look at the bigger picture—how your family, community and the world around you have shaped who you are. Once we do that, we can begin to honor the whole you, not just focus on fixing problems. This approach lets us dig deeper into how your past experiences shape your future decisions, making healing about more than just symptom relief—it’s about changing how you see yourself. Together, we’ll unravel the complicated web of life’s influences (no pressure, we’ll go at a good pace!) and work toward feeling more grounded, empowered, and more at home in the world.

This group is geared towards new mothers. This group is different than a typical 'new mom's group." Its orientation is around the psycho-emotional challenges that come with the journey of mothering. This group is an opportunity to share your thoughts and feeling around this life transition, body image, work stress, your relationship to your partner, sexuality, and anxiety around navigating what is touched inside of you as you mother and live and continue to show up for those that you love. I strive to be a therapist who is challenging and direct without being judgmental; is open-minded and encouraging of my clients to explore options in their lives that may be different than my own or others around them. I am someone who doesn't rush to diagnose and pathologize, but rather seeks to understand. I am not invested in the choices my clients make, I am invested in my clients making choices from a place of wholeheartedness. And specifically, I have a keen understanding of the intricacies of intimacy and sexuality within relationship to oneself and community. As long as we "fail forward" together, we are perfectly imperfect

This trauma group if facilitated by two Clinical social workers. The group is based in Narrative Exposure Therapy, a treatment for trauma disorders. It is understood that the story a person tells himself/herself about their life influences how the person perceives their experiences and wellbeing. Framing one's life story solely around the traumatic experiences leads to a feeling of persistent trauma/distress. By expressing the narrative, the patient fills in details of fragmentary memories and develops a coherent autobiographical story. In so doing, the memory of a traumatic episode is refined and understood. --Ten weeks longs, 90 minute sessions. questions- call/email.

This group was born out of the desire of many of the men I work with, individually and in couples, to be in relationship with and/or in conversation with other men to talk about the pressures, expectations, and roles they struggle with. Shame quickly snuffle the desire to join this type of configuration; however, the benefits are exponential to men's careers, relationships with lovers/children, and ability to enjoy their lives.
