Coping Skills Group for Kids (grades 1-5)

A camp-like experience that is fun yet teaches practical skills to recognize emotions and stressors in life. Coping skills to address uncomfortable feelings such as being overwhelmed, angry, fearful, and sad are taught. There is an emphasis on building self-esteem and healthy ways to communicate feelings. Great for kids who struggle with stress, anxiety, and adjusting to new situations, such as divorce or moving.

Coping Skills Group For Teens
An on-going group intended for teenagers whose emotions and behaviors may feel out of control and may have difficulty coping in healthy ways . Objectives include: 1. Improve understanding of why we feel what we do, "What are our emotions trying to tell us?" 2. Increase insight and improve ability to label emotions 3. Learn and practice a variety of effective coping skills 4. Use skills to manage emotions and reduce behaviors such as emotional outbursts, cutting, isolation, suicidal thoughts/ threats, generalized and social anxiety, and fighting with others 5. Be a part of a group that is supportive and nurturing.
