Coping for Siblings of Children with Autism
Having a sibling with autism has a number of affects on children. Research shows that many children feel anxiety about how to interact with their brother or sister and may experience feelings of loss, rejection, resentment, sadness, or frustration at times. Siblings of children with special needs may also develop a strong sense of loyalty, pride, compassion, and responsibility. This group will support children with a sibling with autism by providing a format to share feelings and learn from others going through similar experiences and to assist children in building new, healthier stress-reducing behaviors.

Anger Management for Children and Adolescents
These groups will assist children and adolescents in increasing their understanding of how anger/frustration affects them, including increasing self-awareness of the physical signs of anger and increasing coping abilities. Youth will also learn ways to manage their anger, including how to change how they think about upsetting situations in order to help them to control acting out behaviors when frustrated or upset. Separate groups are offered for children and for adolescents and are offered regularly every few months. Call 715-338-2698 for more information or to register for a group.
