Managing stress
A stressor is an event or situation that causes stress. Just about anything can be a stressor if it is perceived as a danger. (Remember: Stress is a response to danger. No danger ... no stress!) This group is a small and psychoeducational group in a safe and supportive environment to help you develop individualized coping strategies to increase your distress tolerance. Topics of discussion may include physical environment, social/relational, financial, organizational, life events, lifestyle choices, physiological. Coping can involve breathing exercises, mindfulness, and self-care. So, let’s get stared we are in this journey together.
Self-care
People all have different requirements for self-care. The goals of self-care are to find a state of good mental and physical health, reduce stress, meet emotional needs, maintain and find balance. Learning to take care of yourself is one of the most effective ways to practice self-care. self-care is often considered to be an important aspect of resiliency: those who can adequately meet their needs are often able to better cope with everyday stressors. Therapy can uncover the root of a failure to care for oneself. So, let's get started we are in this together.
