Adults Support Groups in West Hollywood, CA

Sometimes we hold ourselves accountable for things that we were never taught, however to do so is unrealistic, unfair, and invalidating. DBT Skills Group fills in those gaps and shows ways to better handle hardships, emotions, and relationships. More of a class than a processing group, DBT Skills Group at Three Waves Psychotherapy teaches practical techniques to live more peacefully with ‘what is’ as they coincide with the DBT modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Groups are available to clients across California and attendees will learn over 80 effective skills to help build a life worth living.

Join us for a 4-week in-person group series for queer teens and their caregivers. In this creative and affirming space, teens and caregivers meet separately and come together, exploring themes like: self-expression, affirmation, communication, healing relationships. Whether you're a teen looking for community or a caregiver hoping to deepen your connection, this group is designed to support and uplift both of you. We welcome all LGBTQIA+ youth and the adults who care for them—therapy doesn’t have to be a solitary journey. Sundays 7/13, 7/20, 7/27 and 8/3 from 11am-12pm.

Gay people can be understood to possess a sublime creative potential that with special care may develop in striking ways, professionally, relationally, spiritually. This weekly depth group approaches the gay psyche as having fearsome as well as uplifting divine aspects that can be integrated into a novel sense of wholeness not otherwise attainable through standard therapies. Focus on becoming more gay-centered, feeling-oriented, transpersonally-minded, and appreciative of LGBT mystical traditions through dynamic interpersonal interaction and a shared transformative effort to reclaim deeply-sourced homophobic childhood hurts as the eternally hopeful "child within" who needs our loving care.

This group is nitched toward culturally diverse MFT Interns, CSWs, ASW's, trainee & psychology students-of-color. The group focuses on group processing from the lens of diversity. This could, or could not, include embracing and incorporating cultural competence through psychoeducation. This would include processing through validation, as well as, self and peer awareness from a facilitator who would encourage discussions of difference and how difference affects, or not affects, treatment and the workplace and the Self.
