Addictions if untreated have the same traits: secrets, ritualistic behavior, obcessions of the mind followed by cravings and compulsive acting out then the shame kicks in and we say, "I'll never do that again and (2) weeks later we are left demoralized as we find ourselves doing it again often with catastrophic results. The group explores the science of addiction and how to gain the tools to stop the behavior. The group will begin Oct 01, 2021 and a phone interview to assess for suitability will be required. No more than 10 members per group session.

I have a specialization working with couples, families and individuals; as well as substance abuse/chemical dependency and addiction treatment (porn, sex & gambling). In many cases the depressed and anxious client is self medicating in some way to alter underlying feelings of depression, anxiety and intimacy/attachment issues. I use Somatic Experiencing, a very effective treatment for trauma/PTSD symptoms, helping the body and mind regulate itself. Clients in relationships with loved ones addicted or abusing substances can benefit from therapy to learn how to take care of themselves so as to identify when they’re enabling.
This is a solid men's therapy group where you'll find connection, support, and accountability. Men in this group show up regularly, actively engage with the other men, listen and give input, and they share about their own experiences: challenges, goals, career, addictions, hopes, marriage, spirituality, insecurities, needs, fears, relationships, dreams, parenting, intimacy . . . pretty much anything you're dealing with. Everyone is heard and supported!

Is your sexual behavior messing up your relationship? your career? your life? Even if it's simply looking at porn, some guys are getting fired from their jobs because they keep doing it at work. Maybe you've hurt your partner and you're tired of the shame you feel every time you pull out your phone to look at pictures or videos. Other guys are caught up in sexting, but even if you don't actually meet those women, would your wife be okay with it? Book a FREE 10-minute consultation right now: realkev.in/consult

Give yourself permission to be vulnerable by putting yourself first. Negative and highly-critical self-talk, especially for gay men, is the root of many of our problems and addictions. You may feel “less-than” others, think poorly of yourself, or are unsure how to get your needs met. I can help you to shed light on where this inner-critic is coming from, how to quiet it, and help you rebuild your relationship with self/others. Next, we can develop tools to manage anxiety and depression, embrace your sexuality, develop a healthier relationship to sex/porn, heal infidelity, integrate love and sex, or improve your relationships.
This is an ACTION and RESULTS DRIVEN Mens' group designed to create real changes and improvements from the very first session. My clinical areas of focus include couples therapy, marriage counseling, relationship issues, men's issues, trauma, depression, and anxiety.

Our relationship with food is the only relationship in our lives that we cannot walk away from, yet so many of us have a dysfunctional relationship with it. How do we begin to heal? Maybe with a little guidance from a registered dietitian and a licensed therapist? Each week we’ll explore an intuitive eating principle (or two!) paired with a mental health topic that either represents a hurdle in the healing process or provides insights into why we eat the way we do. Join me and Leah Tsui, RD for an 8-week journey into your relationship with food.

You’ve been listening to some great podcasts about becoming a better version of yourself, learning to be your own healer, or diving deep into “the work”. Men's Issues Support Groups
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
