I am gathering an interest list to start a grief support group for fathers whose partners have died. You might find it virtually impossible to run your household and go on with "normal life," while grieving the death of your partner/spouse - the "dual track," grieving while raising children. Come find support with others in similar situations who "get it," not to wallow but to find time and space to feel the pain of loss, address the demands of going on, and share from your hearts about what rebuilding from here will look like.

Another expertise is working with grief and loss.
It is possible to feel happier, more capable and have a kinder relationship with yourself and others. It’s been proven by neuroscience. We all experience loss in our lives from everyday disappointments to the loss of a loved one. Even the most fortunate among us sometimes feel anxious, depressed, isolated, distraught or the fear of uncertainty. Everyone has had less than ideal experiences we haven’t been able to process by ourselves. That definitely includes me too. Believe me, you’re not alone. It’s human. There is no happily ever after, but you can have more love and ease in your daily life.

I have been trained in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) which helps people to move through transitions, deal with grief and loss and work on interpersonal disputes.
Don't go it alone! You're making the first step by looking for a therapist. I work with people who are going through life transitions who need help improving their natural coping skills and learning new ones. Many people experience life changes such as the birth of a child, starting college, starting a career, getting married or divorced, parenting, empty nesting, assisting with an aging parent or the death of a loved one. Having worked as a manager in a workplace I can offer support and guidance in workplace conflicts and communication. I provide support as we work together to improve the things that aren't working.
You experienced the death of a loved one that's left a hole in your life. You feel emotional overwhelm, or you're numb. Its beyond your ability to cope. You go through the motions, but no one understands...You are not alone. 1) Connect with others in mourning; 2) Cope with grief from a holistic perspective; 3) Grow the life your loved one would want for you. Drawing from my trauma-informed BE A MESS Mourning Method, I'll guide you through evidence-based strategies focused on the Behavioral, Emotional, Anatomical, Mental, Energetic, Social, & Spiritual impacts of loss.

Having personal experience with weight loss (I lost over 60 lbs.
I am a UCLA and Pepperdine trained clinical psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of grief/ loss and eating disorders. Dealing with grief and loss is one of the hardest things we have to do as humans. I use evidence-based treatments such as cognitive-behavioral therapy to help clients cope with the emotional pain so they can process the loss in the best way possible and move forward with their lives. I also help people with eating disorders live their best life. I am the author of the bestselling book Foodaholic The Seven Stages To Permanent Weight Loss and am maintaining my own 60 pound weight loss for many years.
This group is for women who are grieving miscarriage, stillbirth, newborn loss, selective reduction or pregnancy termination. Nearly one-third of all pregnancies end in some form of loss. Such losses often fall into the category of "disenfranchised grief" - grief that is not fully acknowledged by society and for which there are few support systems, traditions or institutions to help. You do not have to go through the grieving process alone. Many women are surprised by the depth of the pain and range of emotions they are experiencing - it is normal to be experiencing whatever you are experiencing.

Sadly, 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage and 1 in 8 will have trouble with conception. I blend psychology, ritual, spirituality, reiki, energy healing, guided meditations and more to help facilitate and support women, couples and families.

You don't have to be alone in your feelings of loss. The world is a strange and crazy place right now. Reach out for support because sometimes it takes a village.

I am not a typical therapist. I see myself as a co-author, witness, helpful ally, teammate, collaborator and useful resource. Rather than taking a role as an “expert” by making assumptions or interpretations about your life, I love to use skillful conversation and artful question-asking to help you get past obstacles and problems. You are here on this page because you have strength in you, you have desire in you and you have healing in you. You are the main character in your own life. Therapy can either help or hinder the development of this character as someone powerful, capable and whole.
You hoped for children, you tried for children, but it just didn't happen for you. I work with couples and those in platonic relationships in all different stages—maybe you and your partner(s) want a dedicated space and time to connect and focus on your relationship or would like to work through challenges and issues as they arise or you’re going through a major life transition (like a new health diagnosis or moving in together) and need some additional support. Maybe you’re interested in opening up your relationship and want to explore ethical nonmonogamy or polyamory. Or you and your best friend had some recent ruptures you’d like to try and repair with the help of someone else. That’s where I come in.

Grief Support Groups
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
