Anxious Youth Group

This is a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) group for children and adolescents with anxiety. The group uses the Coping Cat program, which has been proven to significantly reduce anxiety in children ages 7-13. Begins January 7th. The full cost of group is $450 for 8 weekly 60-minute group sessions, two 30-minute parent sessions, and weekly parent emails with action plans. PLUS, the first 5 to register will receive $100 off (using the Coupon Code HOLIDAY), which makes the group less than $40 an hour! Groups are kept small to give each child gets individual attention.

BFRB Treatment Groups

For children, teens and adults who want to stop hair pulling, skin picking or other body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs). Meets 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month, 1:00-2:00pm (for children & teens); 2:30-3:30pm (for adults) at The Center for Mindfulness & CBT, 10845 Olive Blvd. Ste. 150, 63141. Led by Dr. Chackes, this group uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Habit Reversal Therapy and Mindfulness to help group members learn and practice tools to reduce hair pulling, skin picking, or other similar behaviors. Group members will set behavioral goals and support each other in reaching their goals.
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Course

Now Enrolling for the Spring Sesion: 8-Week Course starts April 5, 2018; $400 for all 8 classes. MBCT is a clinically proven program for preventing relapse into depression, and reducing stress and anxiety. This course will help you learn to step out of automatic pilot and become aware of each moment, be mindful of how thoughts and feelings lead to depression and anxiety, learn to respond to negative feelings with acceptance, learn to recognize distorted thinking to feel less anxious and depressed, and engage in healthy behaviors that are consistent with your values.
