Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Adolescents (ages 12-17) are good candidates for IOP if they experience frequent, significant mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, and suicidal behavior that impact functioning in their relationships, school, work, and/or community. IOP offers more severe preventative treatment than a traditional outpatient setting offers and is also recommended as a "step down" level of care for adolescents recently released from the hospital following suicide attempts. BACA's IOP treatment plan includes: individual therapy to address specific goals, medication management, and opportunities to share experiences in groups to gain support from other adolescents dealing with similar difficulties.
