Adolescent DBT
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a specific type of cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy developed in the late 1980s by psychologist Marsha M. Linehan. It is taught in a group setting. DBT is used for the treatment of many mental health disorders. DBT suggests that people react more intensely toward certain emotional situations, primarily those found in romantic, family and friend relationships. DBT theory addresses these types of situations as well as individuals attain a higher level of emotional stimulation, take much more time to calm themselves following the emotion. DBT was developed to address these types of behaviors and to help restore peace to our lives.
