Support Groups in 37203
This is a 12-week therapy group for women. Previous experience in individual therapy is a requirement for members to join this group. Group members are strongly encouraged to read "Facing Codependence" by Pia Mellody. We'll be discussing what codependence is, why we have it and what to do next. We'll be exploring the influences of family-of-origin, as well as any current relational patterns or dysfunction. Group members will create a safe environment to support each other through setting and implementing healthy boundaries.

Hello- Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I love working with adolescents and adults. I am particularly interested in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, facilitating trauma processes, and substance use recovery. Positivity, laughter, music, and creativity are essential elements of my practice. I look forward to helping you identify your strengths while expressing difficulties through modalities that fit your abilities and preferences.
Menopause is not just hot flashes. The hormonal (and sometimes situational, midlife-related) mental health problems can be just as debilitating. The increased anxiety (especially health anxiety), panic attacks, depression and anger make it even harder for women to be their own advocates in these years. Our society’s obsession with youth and external beauty doesn’t help either. Many women also question their past life choices and decisions during this time, leading to feelings of frustration, regret, or guilt. The group will be in-person on a weekday evening TBD. I will take the insurances listed on my profile.

I have 15 years of experience working with children and adults and the best feeling in my professional life is when my clients no longer need me. I consider it a privilege that I can help people through difficult times, whether it's workplace stress, life-phase challenges, relationship issues, concerns with family dynamics, or anxiety / depression taking their toll on everyday functioning. If you feel that any of the above are preventing you from feeling content, or from achieving your full potential in life, I can help you.
The DBT Skills Group will meet weekly for a one hour session. This psychoeducational group is open to individuals ages 16+ who would like to learn about skills such as distress tolerance, mindfulness, and emotional regulation. This is a hybrid model group you can join online or in person.

This coed interpersonal therapy group helps members refine the skills to notice, articulate, and understand their thoughts and feelings about themselves and others. In a confidential setting, members will work to increase their capacity to have healthy relationships, cope with problems, and ultimately take more from life. You may benefit from this group if you want to be more authentic in your relationships, have difficulty expressing your feelings, have trouble trusting others, often feel dissatisfied in relationships, frequently put others' needs before your own, or experience anxiety in social situations.

In addition to being a more affordable treatment option, Group Therapy is an ideal format for growing interpersonal relationship skills, like boundary setting, vulnerability, and confrontation. This women's process group provides a safe space to process emotions, become seen and known, and have your story witnessed. Members offer challenging feedback and meaningful encouragement. Honestly sharing in Group produces a different kind of growth than sharing privately with your therapist. If you’ve hit a plateau in individual therapy, or you realize you are lacking emotionally vulnerable and healthy relationships, group can be an effective and challenging change of pace.

I am passionate about the heart and deeply committed to seeing you live more fully by engaging yours. Because your needs are as unique and valuable as your story, my therapy is grounded in Person-Centered Theory. I trust you to be the expert on your own life, and thus the expert in the room. My approach to therapy is integrative and trauma-informed. While drawing from Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR and Play and Expressive Arts Therapy, my focus remains on the most powerful tool, the relationship. From my own healing journey, I have come to believe we're wounded in the context of relationship, and we heal in relationship, too.
